As in all of Italy, Tuscany has many local culinary specialties, including saffron, and produces excellent olive oil as well as a wide range of excellent wines, Chianti Classico perhaps the first. The wines can be tasted in many wineries by simply showing up, but it is worth considering taking a tour of the Tuscan wineries with a reputable driver-guide.
