Born in 1980, today it consists of about 100 sows and more than a thousand total heads, managed by careful genetic selection, using Goland and Large White boars.
It is a closed-cycle breeding, i.e. all the phases are managed in it:
- Reproduction phase, in which the piglets destined for fattening and replacement are produced
- Fattening phase, aimed at the production of pigs for slaughter
The breeding is structured in different sectors:
- Fertilization sector, for boars, sows and gilts and for the first part of pregnancy
- Gestation sector, for pregnant sows / gilts
- Maternity sector. (farrowing room) which houses the sows from a few days before farrowing until the weaning of the litter
- Weaning sector
- Fattening sector, for pigs from about 50 kg up to the final slaughter weight.
