These are the top 5 consumption opportunities that the fourth edition of the national observatory has unveiled Just Eat on the digital food delivery market in Italy and the impact of the lockdown, which in November led to the activation of an ad hoc initiative to support restaurateurs.

How Turin's catering has changed 

Turin catering has become increasingly digital with an increase of + 43% of restaurants on the app year on year: Turin is the fourth city in terms of number of orders in Italy, after Rome, Bologna and Milan.

In line with what registered at national level, the poké proves to be the fastest growing kitchen in home orders in the city with a + 100%, ice cream becomes the second trend of 2020 (+ 75%), followed by sandwiches (+ 36%). Favorite cuisine after the Pizza is the hamburger, followed by Japanese in second place and Chinese in third.

The day when you order the most in Turin is Saturday: young people between the ages of 25 and 34 are the main users of food delivery, followed by the 35-44 age group.

Men tend to order more than women with 54% vs 46%, while if you look at the professions it is the employees who rely more on food delivery with the 42%, followed by students (24%), freelancers (7%) and workers ( 5%). The freelancers are also the highest spenders.
