Pilea

Pilea peperomioides was recently discovered, it is a plant native to South America and Asia and its curious nickname refers to the particular shape of its leaves, which are almost perfectly round like coins. It is a plant that furnishes almost like a design piece of furniture, no matter if it is thick or if it has few leaves: in any case it will make a great impression. CARE 

Technically, Pilea peperomioides is an evergreen succulent perennial plant, of the Urticaceae family, it is easy to grow, even in hydroponics, it does not tolerate temperatures below 10 °, so in winter it will be brought indoors, in full light but away from heaters. During the summer the plant grows and develops in shaded areas not radiated by direct sunlight.

It can also be grown in hydroponics, although it does not need frequent watering. In fact, it is sufficient to water it only when the soil is dry to the touch. It is a drought-resistant plant, but it should be watered abundantly from spring and throughout the summer. To ensure the right degree of humidity, it is necessary to leave a little water in the saucer and spray the leaves with non-calcareous water at room temperature.
