THE ATELIER
Your dream at your fingertips. In the heart of Lecce
The showroom is located in a historic building, in the heart of Lecce, behind the central S. Oronzo square and within walking distance of the wonderful Basilica of Santa Croce.
Dating back to the first half of the 17th century, skilfully renovated with pink marble, the building has the typical architecture of the Lecce Baroque, with high vaulted ceilings that make the whole environment bright and warm.
Here the customers will be enveloped by a romantic and dreamy atmosphere where every single piece of furniture reflects a refined, sober and refined style, in a perfect setting that puts the true protagonist at the center of everything ... the bride.
OUR HISTORY
A reference point for style for 50 years
The historic atelier was born in 1965, when the owner, Mrs. Maria Teresa Bagordo, then twenty-six, once she graduated from the Professional Institute and after attending the two years at the Academy of Fine Arts, decided to realize her dream, that of creating wedding dresses.
Daughter of a well-known textile merchant of the time, she decided to respect tradition and to follow in her father's footsteps by setting up her own business. With the audacity, the determination that still distinguish her, she began to make her first wedding dresses and sell them in the local area.
His small artisan workshop has evolved over time with the participation of the whole family, becoming over the years an important reality throughout the Salento, such as to involve, for several generations, an increasingly vast and more rooted, excellent and sophisticated clientele.
The story continues in the following years in Via Matteotti at number 28, where the current maison is located, in a seventeenth-century stately home, a suggestive and romantic location in which hundreds of brides took shape and fulfilled the wishes of hundreds of brides. The atelier, the first wedding dress shop in Lecce, grows and renews itself over the years and around the second half of the 1980s it is the protagonist of fashion shows, catwalks, events, exhibitions, competitions.
Over the years, Casa della Sposa has been able to maintain the success that is renewed today with the stylist Barbara Grieco which, together with its very valid staff, has given a new turn to the maison, giving its own style, linked to sobriety, refinement, but also innovation, without ever betraying the high craftsmanship, which is what has characterized the spirit and soul of this project: a dream come true.
