WHO WE ARE

Ostello Milano was built in the 1960s: it was a state-of-the-art building at the time, but after almost 50 years, time began to weigh. This is why we have decided to renovate the whole building! Milan has always been one of the main cities in the world for architecture and design. This legacy has inspired us to design a building that will serve as a model to set new standards for youth hostels, starting from an environmental point of view, as more and more young travelers are interested in sustainability and travel with great attention. to the environment. The Milan AIG Hostel will be completely renovated for sustainable tourism, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, with the aim of achieving the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.
This evaluation system certifies the level of eco-compatibility and the environmental, social and economic sustainability of buildings, from the design phase to daily operations.
For thermal and acoustic insulation, exceeding the requirements of current legislation, the building will be equipped with new devices and with an external insulation and finishing system (EIFS). In addition, preference will be given to environmentally friendly materials with low energy impact. Access to the premises will be redesigned to make them easily accessible to guests - including people with disabilities.
The renovation involves all the plumbing and heating / cooling systems of the building: remaking of the radiant tube panels under the floor; installation of geothermal heat pump generators that use groundwater and / or heat from the earth for heating in winter and cooling in summer; installation of solar panels on the roof to generate the electrical power required by the heat pump system and other applications; installation of solar valve collectors on the roof for the production of domestic hot water.
